Rathcoona Cove(Shannon) is in foal to Lecarrow King and due June 2013.
Canal Lorna is being worked to compete in various ridden and in hand formats throughout 2013,
hopefully exceeding the successes achieved throughout 2012.
Connla Roisin will be shown in hand,
may be backed and probably put in foal in 2013.
Connla Aibreann(April) will be shown in hand throughout
2012 News and Updates
We travelled to the BCPS In Hand Show at Moreton Morrell, have great success, and
come back with Connla Aibreann winning the Foal Championship.
Good day all round with good results;
Cove-1st-Class 18-Broodmare 9-13 with foal at foot.
Connla Aibreann-1st-Class 14-Filly Foal. BCPS Foal Champion.
Roisin-4th-Class 6-2YO Filly.
Canal Lorna-5th-Class 24-Pure Bred Mare 4YO+
Canal Lorna travelled to the Eastern Counties Area Connemara Show at Norton Heath Equestrian
Centre, Blackmore, Essex.
Firstly competing in the Novice Ridden for Pure Bred Connemara Class, ridden by
Lauren Ryan, they came through to be awarded 1st place.
Later, they competed in the In Hand, Mare
and Gelding 4 YO+ Class, again coming through to be awarded 1st place.
A good day all round, well done
to the Eastern Region Group organisers.

Connla Stoirm (Fergus)
has now returned having been backed and is coming on very well.
This lovely pony may be offered for sale
sometime in the near future.

Canal Lorna and Connla Roisin today
travelled to the Norfolk Native/Eastern Connemara show at Yaxham, Dereham.
Canal Lorna took part in the dressage
and in hand classes.
The introductory and preliminary dressage classes produced results of 2nd and 5th respectively,
we are pleased with her performance, which in terms of show size and attendance was a new experience for her and
will be beneficial in her development.
The pure bred, native, 4yo and over in hand class followed, in which she
took 1st place.
Connla Roisin, (2yo filly Rathcoona Cove/Lecarrow King), for who this was
the first time out in nearly a year, took part in the pure bred, 3yo and under class, was awarded 4th place.

Our mare Shannon (Rathcoona Cove) and filly foal, April (Connla
Aibreann) today went off to vist Henrietta Knight's Lecarrow King.
Shannon will be covered by Lecarrow
King in the near future.

Canal Lorna, having been backed
in early 2012, has began competing in Introductory dressage competitions around the eastern counties.
All the hard work
is standing to her, she has taken to it very well and has come in 1st in all three events entered over the

Our mare Rathcoona Cove today foaled a gorgeous
filly, by Lecarrow King, called April, she will be named Connla Aibreann, which is April in Irish.

Following the National Breed
show last week, today was our Eastern Reigon Connemara Show. As Canal Lorna missed out on a trip last week, she made up for
it today! She won her class (3yo filly and gelding) and then went on to claim 'Reserve Youngstock

It was the British Connemara Pony
Breed show at Moreton Morrell today, and Connla Stud came home with some ribbons! 'Connla Roisin' was 2nd in a big
Yearling Filly class, then went forward to the Yearling Championship and came away with Reserve!
Dam Rathcoona Cove then went into the 'Broodmare 4yo and over with Certificate of Service' class, and won

We attended the Royal Norfolk Show today
and came home with good results, Rathcoona Cove was 2nd the in M&M in Hand Large breeds class, beating a healthy class
including stallions. Canal Lorna was 4th in a large youngstock class.
Canal Lorna won another Youngstock class today at Woodbridge Horse Show!
Finally Spring has arrived! No foals due this year unfortunatley but Rathcoona Cove has been covered by Lecarrow
King again so we have our fingers crossed she is scanned in foal shortly.
We have also begun our show season with some
great results, Canal Lorna's first show she was 2nd and this week at Ipswich Horse Society she won the In hand M&M
class! Connla Roisin also had her first outing and behaved very well. Lets hope May contintues to be a good month!
All the ponies have coped well with the cold weather and the snow we had
before Christmas. Roisin was weaned in November and is looking well, we are planning to show her in hand this year. Shannon
has just come back into work and is enjoying herself! We are aiming to fitten her up after 3 years of foals and take her to
some shows as well this year. We are also planning to sending her back to Lecarrow King this year as we are so pleased with
Roisin. We also said goodbye to her first foal 'Connla Realta Reatha' who was sold to a lovely family
and we wish them all the best together!
2010 News and Updates
Shannon delivered a filly foal this morning by Lecarrow King! Our first Connemara filly
for Connla Stud!More pictures to follow shortly.
We are very excited
about our latest addition 'Canal Lorna'. She is a 2yo filly that has come to us from the heart of Connemara. Brought
from Padraig Hynes at his 'Canal Connemara Pony Stud,' we hope she will make a successful broodmare for the future.

have had a great day out at Horse of the Year Show today and are extremely pleased for Henrietta Knight as Lecarrow King has
won Ridden Connemara of the Year! Rathcoona Cove is in foal to him for 2010. He has had an amazing season and we are looking
forward to Olympia which he has also qualified for!

An emotional farewell today to Storm (Rowley), who has been sold to a very good home and surely will go on to be

Gone, but never forgotten, we wish him well, and will surely meet again.

Rathcoona foaled her second foal to Dunlewey Rigmarole this morning,

Arrow Peruna produced a lovely black Colt this evening by Pilgrim's
Excalibur, both mare and foal are doing well.
Rathcoona Cove produced a colt
foal in the early hours of the morning. Born bay with a large star, we are very pleased with him.

There is a new addition to Connla Stud, broodmare Arrow Perunawho is currently in foal to Pilgrims
Exalibur. She is due at the end of May and this will be her 4th foal. She is a full sister to the stallion Arrow Javelin and
has been previously used as a performance pony herself. Our other broodmare Rathcoona Cove is due on the 25th April.
2007 News and Updates
31st October 2007
As winter looms,
we are currently doing last minute fencing and other odd jobs that need doing while the weather isn't too bad! Ardnasella
Lad is being prepared for next years breaking in, he is happily being lunged and getting used to his tack and so far all has
gone well! Storm is now being ridden daily and is happy hacking out round the village and being schooled! We will be aiming
him at Novice Ridden next season.
Storm and Rickamore Archer went along
to the National Amateur Showing Championships today. Archie came 3rd in the Open
Youngstock class, Storm came 5th in the open M&M class
and later came 3rd in the M&M Large Breeds in hand class! We
are very pleased to be able to qualify for this show and we will definately be going along to the Winter Championships!
We took Storm and Rickamore Archer to the Eye Country show today to both compete in the In
hand M&M Largre Breeds Youngstock class. Another very good day as Storm won the classand Rickamore Archer came in 3rd! Very pleasing!
Rickamore Archer and Storm travelled to Towerlands for the British Connemara Society Eastern Region In hand
and Ridden Show. Rickamore Archer was 2nd in the 2 year old Purebred fillies and geldings class,
and also claiming the Best Gelding Rosette! Storm experienced his first time in the ring in the
3 year old Purebred fillies and geldings class and came away a worthy 2nd!
A very good result not only for his first show but against the very good competition and we were very pleased to be judged
by the racing trainer and Connemara breeder, Henrietta Knight! Another good day all round!
Rickamore Archer was taken to his first show today. Tendring Hundered is a large show with all sorts of agricultural
classes. Archie won his class, the In hand Mountain and Moorland Large Breeds
along with a Special rosette for Best Connemara In Show. He then went forward into the Championship and won this also! He was impeccably behaved for a two year old at his first show! We
are all extremely pleased!
Rathcoona Cove has been scanned and has been confirmed in foal! She will
be due mid April! We are all very excited to be having our first foal next year!
Rathcoona Cove has been at
Biddesden stud for 3 weeks and has been covered by DUNLEWEY RIGMAROLE. Fingers crossed she is in foal!!!
We have purchased our first Connemara Broodmare called Rathcoona Cove.
She is by Moy Hazy Cove out of a mare by Westside Fred. She is a beautiful type, plenty of bone and has bred before, as coincidently,
we have her first foal, STORM. We will choose a stallion for her over the next few months.
